Amelia Earhart Found!

Well, her cenotaph, anyway. Hello again, BLA-er's. It is a short but sweet update I bring you today, including the only memorial plaque that exists for the great aviatrix lost so many years ago. It is part of the Portal of the Folded Wings aviation memorial section at Valhalla in North Hollywood. Others from this cemetery are already on the site, like Oliver Hardy, Gail Russell, Jiminy Cricket, Gorgeous George, and Mae Clarke, but today we add stunt legend Yakima Canutt, The Amazing Criswell, Bea Benaderet, Mayberry's Helen Crump (Aneta Corsaut), and a guy named Ralph Waldo Emerson II, who may or may not be an actual decendant of the great poet. As always, please check the What's New page for all the details.

Hey, if you're looking for a good paperback for your summer reading needs, my brother, Ken, the original webmaster of Beneath Los Angeles, has written a collection of short stories called Aaron's Intifada. You can check it out at:

http://www.aaronsintifada.com/

And don't forget the cool collection of T-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball caps and coffee mugs bearing photos from the BLA Collection available from our gift shoppe. My favorite is the Mel Blanc sweatshirt (That's All, Folks!), but the Marilyn Monroe T is very popular, too. So, don't forget to have a look next time you visit.

As always, thank you for your continued support and comments. The book is being considered now by a new publisher, so I'll keep you posted.

Happy Hunting!

Steve
