Al Jolson

The biggest entertainer of his day, he famously uttered the first words on sound film (You ain't heard nuthin' yet!) in 1927's 'The Jazz Singer' (WB). His waterfall memorial can be seen from the 405 Freeway as you drive past Hillside Memorial Park in Culver City. Died during a poker game in the same San Francisco hotel room where Fatty Arbuckle had his wild party with the unfortunate Virginia Rappe thirty years before. His last words were: "Boys, I'm going!"
